Learn to make traditional, authentic Roman cuisine from one of the best in the business. Anna Dente, best known as “Sora Anna”, has been labeled the queen of Roman cuisine, and during your cooking lesson with her, she’ll teach you to make her internationally acclaimed recipes.

About Anna

Anna grew up helping her mother and father run their butcher shop and garden in San Cesareo, where she learned about fresh meats and vegetables. At a young age, she began cooking alongside her aunt in their family-run osteria in Rome. She learned to cook quality food and generations-old recipes with fresh herbs and ingredients. Today, her family’s osteria guarantees the same quality of home-produced meats and vegetables with the aim of preserving traditions from generations past.

Today Anna has been called Queen of the Matriciana by Stefano Bonilli, Priestess of Authentic Traditional Roman Cooking by Bob Noto on the website Lo Mejor de la Gastronomia, and Queen of Roman Cooking by the great Chef Heinz Beck of La Pergola at the Cavalieri Hilton Hotel, Rome.

Cooking Classes

During your class with Anna, you will create and taste agricultural and pastoral cuisine inspired by the ancient Latin settlers who founded Rome and settled in the Roman countryside. Using fresh, seasonal ingredients, you’ll cook with wild herbs, mushrooms and grains to make handmade pasta, polenta and soups.

All ingredients are produced on agricultural land owned and managed by Anna and her family.

After your cooking class, enjoy the fruits of your labor with Anna in her osteria complete with local Roman wines.
